Nancy Carol Slater, 73, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at her home.
She was born Jan. 22, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of Jessie and Hadessa Brown Lynn.
She enjoyed gambling, fishing, camping, cooking and traveling. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally and was a wonderful friend to many.
Surviving are six children: Kenneth Schlup (Cathy), Robert Schlup (Connie), Brenda Lowe (James), all of Sedalia, Lloyd Schlup (Suzi), of St. Louis, Rini Goodman (Don), of Sedalia, and Rose Saint (Jackie), of Albertville, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jessie Hodgdon and Diana Day.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Teddy Schlup.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.
