James ‘Jim’ Leftwich Moore

James “Jim” Leftwich Moore, 95, Eureka Nursing Center, Eureka, Kan., died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at the Nursing Center. He was born May 18, 1918, son of Phyness Claude and Mary Irene Leftwich Moore. He was employed and retired from Eastman Kodak Company in the state of California.

Preceding him in death in 1993 was his wife, Jean Cherman Christianson Moore, who was buried with military honors at Crown Hill Cemetery. In 1995, James married Mona Willis, who passed away in 2005. His brother, Claude Junior Moore died in 1994 and his sister, Dorothy LeVetta Moore Cline Bennett died in 2003.

He is survived by a son, James R. Moore Bennett of Carthage, Mo., step daughters, Toni and Robin Willis, who became his closest friends in the years spent at the Nursing Center. His only remaining cousins are Frances L. Moore of Sedalia and Ellis R. Moore of Raytown, Mo. He also has numerous nephews, nieces and their families surviving.

At a later date, a graveside memorial service may be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia. He will be buried next to his wife Jean.
