JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Association for Healthcare Quality has presented its “Distinguished Quality Professional Award” to JaEllen Hickman, quality management director at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
The Missouri Association for Healthcare Quality presents the award annually to recognize professionals in quality management who have demonstrated significant accomplishments and contributions. The award was presented Thursday, Nov. 7, during an awards luncheon at the Missouri Hospital Association’s 91st Annual Convention & Trade Show in Osage Beach.
Hickman is responsible for development, implementation and oversight of quality improvement and patient safety initiatives at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She uses all available data to identify hospital-wide priorities and represents that data in physician-specific dashboards to help meet the hospital’s goals of reduced length of stay, reduced re-admissions, accurate case mix adjustment and core measure improvement.
“JaEllen goes above and beyond to improve the health and safety of hospital patients,” said John Dawes, president and CEO of Bothwell Regional Health Center. “She’s the heart and soul of our pursuit of excellence in patient care.”
The Missouri Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents 152 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public, as well as legislative representatives, about health care issues.
