The Heartland Chapter of the National Frame Building Association (HNFBA) held its annual convention and trade show, the Heartland NFBA Conference, Oct. 29-30, 2013 at the Overland Park Convention Center near Kansas City. During HNFBA’s special award session on Oct. 30, winners in seven categories received plaques for the annual HNFBA Building of the Year Contest.
The Building of the Year Most Unique Post-Frame Application Award went to Quality Structures, Inc. of Richmond, Kansas. Quality Structures received the Award for an airplane hangar built for Mike Heuschele.
The 50’x72’ structure houses small aircraft on a private air strip near St. Louis, Mo. It is a company’s dream show building. Features include 2’ overhang, 10×16’ porch, 3’ peak extension, WeatherWrap R-14.4 insulation, wainscot, cupola, overhead doors and a 42’x16’hi-fold door. Post-frame design was chosen by the customer for its overall versatility and economical price point.
“Mike could not be happier with his choice of building type and contractor,” remarked Quality Structures General Sales Manager Josh Nowlin. “He has become QSI’s best salesperson in St. Charles County.”
