Patrol investigates officer-involved shooting

On Thursday Oct. 31, 2013, at 10:55 p.m., the Andrew County Sheriff’s Department requested the Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control investigate an officer-involved shooting involving a Buchanan County deputy. The incident involved a pursuit that began in St. Joseph, Mo., and ended in Amazonia, Mo.

The Buchanan County deputy fatally shot the driver of the pursued vehicle after the suspect rammed the deputy’s vehicle, injuring another deputy inside the vehicle. The deceased suspect has been identified as Eric C. Auxier, 28, of Gower, Mo.

This is an ongoing investigation conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
