The Lady Mustangs took the game in two sets, winning 25-12 and 25-14. During the first set, Northwest combined for 11 kills, two aces and 29 digs giving them a 1-0 advantage. Northwest’s Tori Shireman led the team with 15 digs during the first set. Teammate Kendall Walk had five digs of her own, as well as three kills. Lakota Wiskur added four digs to the team total.
In the second set the Lady Mustangs combined for a total of five kills, two aces and 14 digs, eight of which came from Shireman. This win sent the Lady Mustangs to the second round, where they faced the Stover Lady Bulldogs later in the same evening.
The Northwest Lady Mustang Volleyball team took on the Stover Lady Bulldogs in the second round of the Class 1, District 7 volleyball tournament. The Lady Mustangs took the first set 25-20, but lost the next two to eliminate them from the tournament. The final two sets were 18-25 and 16-25. During the first set Northwest combined for six kills, one ace and 14 digs. Kendall Walk led the Mustangs in the first set with four kills and five digs.
In the second set Northwest combined for seven kills, three aces and 14 digs. Tori Shireman managed seven digs and one kill for the Lady Mustangs. Teammate Lakota Wiskur had three kills and four digs during the 18-25 loss.
In the third and final set of the Lady Mustang’s season, they combined for six kills, one ace and 14 digs. Tori Shireman once again led the team with six digs.
