Lena L. Holford, 91, of Sedalia, died on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at the Columbia County Health Care in Columbia.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1922 in Bel-Air, Mo., On Dec. 25, 1964 in Sedalia she married Ernest N. Holford and he preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 1969.
She graduated from C.C. Hubbard High School in Sedalia in 1943. She retired from Rival Mfg. Co. and later from Ewing Vocational Center. Lena enjoyed spending time with family and friends. As a member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses she shared in a volunteer Bible Educational Ministry.
She is survived by three daughters; Marilyn Jones of Sedalia, Ernestine Fletcher and her husband Freddie of Sedalia, Rosemary Fountain and her husband William of Davenport, Iowa, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded by; her parents, husband, two daughters, two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.., Friday, Oct. 25 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Elder Anthony Garcia officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be friends. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time on Friday.
