The Smith-Cotton JROTC hosted and competed in its ninth annual JROTC Raider Meet on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Missouri State Fair Grounds. There were 16 teams that competed from early that morning until late that afternoon. Two of those teams were our very own Smith-Cotton JROTC Raiders.
Smith-Cotton Team 1, commanded by Cadet Christian Sarabia, placed 2nd overall. They placed 1st in Physical Fitness Test, 2nd in the 10 Kilometer Road March, 3rd in the Raider Challenge Course, and 2nd in the One- Mile Ruck Run. Smith-Cotton Team 2, commanded by Cadet Cristina Tejeda, placed 2nd in the Physical Fitness Test and 3rd in the One-Mile Ruck Run. The team that won 1st place overall was Waynesville Team 2.
A big thank you goes out to all the cadets who helped set up and to the parents who worked very hard to make this Raider meet possible. We would also like to thank the teams that came and competed and to the people that came to support our raider teams. Smith-Cotton JROTC would especially like to thank the Voiture 333, 40 & 8 for providing all of the trophies for the Raider meet. Their support to the Smith-Cotton JROTC program is very much appreciated. Thank you!
