Grems finish third at Kickapoo

The Sacred Heart Gremlins finished third in the Kickapoo tournament over the weekend, beating Greenwood on Friday night, 4-0.

Saturday morning, the Gremlins faced last year’s state champion Springfield Catholic and lost 2-1 in a very close match which placed them in the third place game against Republic.

The Gremlins were able to secure a 2-0 win over Class 2 Republic in their final match to secure a third place finish on the weekend. Chance Spangler had 3 goals on the weekend. Jimmy Villalobos had two goals, Chris Mergen and Garrett Strange both had one goal apiece. Brandon Cooper had four assists and Garrett Strange had one over the course of the tournament.

The Gremlins are now 14-3 on the season and return to action at home on Monday night against St. Paul’s Lutheran.
