Sacred Heart wins one, splits one with Tipton in Kaysinger action

Sacred Heart beat Stover in the first match of pool play Thursday night at Cole Camp during the first night of the Kaysinger Volleyball Tornament.

The first set the Gremlins went up 10-1 and held on for a 25-22 win as Stover fought back. The Second set started in similar fashion with Honor Kehde leading the charge starting the game with 2 aces and stellar defense, as the the Gremlins jumped out to a 12-2 lead. In that stretch Erin O’Connor scored 3 points and Becky Full toed the line for 5 points with 2 aces.

Honor Kehde finished the match with 12 points 8 aces 1 kill 1 kill block 7 assists.

Elizabeth Freels finished with 6 points 2 aces 2 digs.

Becky Full 5 points 2 aces 5 kills 1 kill block 3 digs.

Morgan Bogue 2 points 1 ace 5 kills 1 kill block 6 digs.

Hannah Orrel 1 point 1 dig.

Julie Chancellor1 point 3 digs 1 dig 2 assists.

Anna Callis 1 kill 2 kill blocks.

Grace Callis 1 kill 1 dig.

Hannah Willhoit 2 kill blocks

“We served well in both games with very few mental mistakes at serving line. We allowed Stovers hitters to get comfortable but regained our composure and started blocking well at the end of both sets. We have worked hard on improving our blocking and it helped us tonight.” We will address some issues, at practice on Friday and show up Saturday anxious to play,” said head coach David Fall.


Sacred Heart split with Tipton in the second match. Tipton won the first set 25-22. Sacred Heart won the second 25-10.

Erin O’Connor had 7 points 2 aces 2 digs.

Elizabeth Freels had 5 points 2 aces and 3 digs.

Julie Chancellor had 5 points 2 aces and 4 digs.

Morgan Bogue had 2 kills 1 poin and 5 digs.

Becky Full had 4 points 4 kills 3 digs.

Grace Callis had 5 kills at the net.

Anna Callis had 2 kills 1 kill block and 1 dig.

Hannah Willhoit had 2 kills and 1 kill block.

Laura Wadley had 2 kills.
