S-C volleyball victorious over Yellow Jackets

The Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers won two consecutive matches against the Center Yellow Jackets 25-13, 25-12, on Thursday, Oct. 3.

“Despite the absence of injured teammate Hannah Woolery, the Tigers teamed up and had a solid performance,” said head coach Darcia Koetting.

 The Tigers were led by Abby Knight with 11 kills and 3 aces. Bailey Curry had a team high 6 aces, 10 digs an 2 kills. Courtney Koetting had 4 kills and 10 assists, while Hannah M. had 9 assists. Kaylie Creach had 4 aces and 4 digs. Brittany Borke had 7 digs. Jamika Yount scored two aces and one kill.

The Tigers improved their record to 14-4-1 overall. They travel to St. Pius on Monday, then Tuesday invite former S-C players to watch the match against Clinton. Serving competition at 6:45 with varsity match following. Freshmen begin at 5 p.m. with JV at 6 p.m.
