STING arrests one on meth charges

On Thursday, Oct. 3 at approximately 12:04 a.m., the Sedalia Police Department STING unit, with assistance from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol, served a search warrant at 4710 S. Limit, Room 11 (Stardust Motel). Upon arrival officers made entry into the room and secured the two occupants.

A search of the room revealed baggies, digital scales, and Methamphetamine. During the investigation it was determined that the suspect was manufacturing Methamphetamine within 2,000 feet of Smith Cotton High School. The hotel room where the drugs were being sold was actually 90 feet away from Smith Cotton High School property during their Homecoming week, police noted.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending state charges.

Jessica M. Pruitt, 22, 521 S. Lafayette, Sedalia, was charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance within 2,000 feet of a school, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
