Lady Mustangs win in two sets over Greyhounds & Lady Tigers

The Northwest Lady Mustangs volleyball team beat the Windsor Lady Greyhounds in two sets during a home game Thursday night, Sept. 26. The Lady Mustangs won 25-11 and 25-14.

In the first set, the Lady Mustangs combined for five kills, three serve aces and six digs. During the second set the Lady Mustangs combined for a total of 12 kills, three aces and five digs. No statistics were reported from Windsor.

On Monday night, the Northwest Lady Mustangs volleyball team took on the Malta Bend Lady Tigers during a home game in Hughesville. The Lady Mustangs swept the Lady Tigers in two sets, winning 25-11 and 25-5.

In the first set Lady Mustang players Kendall Walk and Alyssa Durrill each had three kills, and Lakota Wiskur had one. Tori Shireman had four aces in the first set for the Lady Mustangs. Northwest had a combined dig count of three.

During the second set Northwest poured on the offense and combined for 11 aces. Shireman accounted for five of the aces and Alyssa Durrill had five of her own while sophomore Hanna Gregory served up an ace of her own. No stats were reported by Malta Bend. The Lady Mustangs travel to Stover on Tuesday night to compete.

The Lady Mustangs played Stover on Tuesday night, losing in two sets, 18-25, 16-25. And they play in the Kaysinger Conference Volleyball Tournament in Cole Camp Thursday and Saturday. The Lady Mustangs travel to Sedalia on Oct. 8 to play Sacred Heart. They return home to play Lincoln on Oct. 10.
