The rain storm that moved across the US Saturday certainly affected the third annual Queen of the Prairies Arts Festival. The airport portion of the fest was eventually canceled, and a few exhibitors pulled out of the arts event downtown. But the heavy rain finally slacked up as festival goers filtered through the downtown area under a steady drizzle.
The Trails End Committee had their newly-acquired steam engine on display on South Ohio street. The Pettis County Historical Society sold books of local interest, actors provided entertainment on the west side of the courthouse and several ladies and gentlemen were wearing period costumes. In addition, a BAM blacksmith conducted demonstrations at 4th and Ohio. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia News Journal.
