A 1925 quarter steam engine that was used in coal yards and owned by train buff and Kinnelon, New Jersey resident Pete Critelli, arrived in Sedalia Tuesday, hauled here in about 20 hours by Ron Ditzfeld of Ditzfeld Transfer. Critelli said the locomotive was originally used at a Pennsylvania coal yard. For more information on the origins of the train, click here.

The owner sold the engine to Sedalia for use in the Trail’s End project and will be on display at State Fair Community College today (for SFCC’s Career Day) as well as downtown Sedalia this Saturday during the annual Queen of the Prairies Festival. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia News Journal.
