Parkview students stay fit by walking a mile

Parkview Elementary has had a busy week with the literacy night, book fair, mile walk, and back-to-school dance. Shown are photos taken Friday afternoon of the Mile Walk on the track at Centennial Park involving over 500 students and teachers from Parkview.

Accoding to Bothwell’s Facebook page, Parkview Elementary students won Bothwell drawstring shoe bags for having more than 500 people participating in the National Walk at School Day. Participants were required post their picture to Bothwell’s Facebook page in order to be eligible.

The Road Runners Club of America hosted the second Annual National Run at School Day nationwide. Schools were encouraged to plan fun runs and walks around the country at local schools. The goal was to encourage children to get 30 minutes or more of exercise each day, in accordance with the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, it was reported.. Photos courtesy Tammy Goodwin.
