The Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers won two straight games against Versailles Sept. 19 with 25-8, 25-11, bringing their record to 10-2. The Tigers started off with a 16-1 lead with Courtney Koetting at the serving line and Abby Knight taking care of things at the net with 5 kills and Emily Swacker adding two kills during that run.
Courtney had a team high 5 aces, 21 points, 18 assists and 1 block. Abby had 11 kills, 8 digs, 1 block, and 2 aces. Hannah Woolery had 6 digs, 3 kills, 5 assists, 1 ace and 1 block. Defensively Brittany Borke had 6 digs, Bailey Curry had 5 and Hannah M. Had 3.
“It was a great team effort tonight with many girls contributing to the win,” said coach Darcia Koetting.
The Tigers play at home Tuesday against Center, with the freshmen march beginning at 5 p.m.
