Since the beginning of the year there were big changes going on at Bryant Motor Company, located at 2901 S. Limit. Bryant Motor Company is in the final stage of their large remodel and the changes are very noticeable to anyone who visits Bryant Motor Company.

The remodel began back in February of this year and it was completed in four phases.

“We stayed in one spot while we renovated,” Bryant Motor Company Co-owner/Manager Kyle Herrick said in an interview Wednesday morning.

“We’ve had a significant renovation, which was well overdo, because the facility hadn’t had any major renovations since Mr. Malmo built it in the late 1960s,” Herrick explained.

The News-Journal spoke at length with Herrick about the changes that have taken place since work began in February, as well as the work that is left to be completed.

The interior renovation is complete. We currently have the new pad out front. It is complete. We just have some landscaping left. Anywhere you see grass we are going to replace it with creek gravel. We’ve changed the look of the landscape to make it different than the surrounding area,” Herrick said.

Herrick spoke more about the renovations that have taken place inside the building.

“The one thing we incorporated into a lot of it, we already had a lot of the stainless steel, was a lot of glass. Stainless steel, glass, a lot of wood and new ceramic tiles really sets it all off. We get tons of compliments on the tile.

The interior now has a modern feel with open spaces, stainless steel and glass office windows. Another change that has taken place inside is the use of LED lighting.

“These are all LED lights. The energy savings is significant. We have twice as many operating lights than we used to have, and we have half the energy usage. We also have high efficiency blinds. It keeps the showroom cooler,” Herrick said.

He added,” We went from seven offices to now having nine offices. They are bigger than they were before.”

Another big change inside is the addition of a top notch customer lounge.

“We now have a kitchenette. We also have a stove and a refrigerator. We bake cookies for the customers. We also have complimentary coffee, tea, doughnuts and fruit,” Herrick said.

Along with those amenities, there is now a customer sitting area that has new, comfortable seating, a big screen television and tables for people to eat off of.

“It is a nice feeling. It doesn’t feel anymore that the customers are in a hurry to get out of here. It is a different feeling than we had before,” Herrick said.

Bryant Motor Company added a new outside display area in front of the building facing S. Limit. It gives them the ability to easily drive show cars off to the north and the south.

Modifications were made to the service department and a brand new service drive was added. A new parts department was added as well.

“We added a whole attached building which is the new parts department,” Herrick said.

Bryant Motor Company will be having a grand re-opening on Oct. 18 from 5 to 9 p.m.

“Our friends at Dugan Paints are cooking for us. We are going to have burgers and brats, beer, wine, pop and all kinds of stuff. Everybody is invited to attend.

“We are excited to have the renovation project complete. We are enthusiastic about spending the next 75 years in Sedalia. Be sure to stop by and check out our complete inventory and our newly renovated facility,” Herrick said.
