S-C volleyball takes first at Higginsville

Smith-Cotton volleyball finished first place at the Higginsville Spikefest on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Pool play results:

S-C vs. Maryville 25-20, 25-16

S-C vs. Northwest 25-16, 26-24

S-C vs. Richmond 25-11, 25-19

Semis:

S-C vs. Cameron 25-15, 25-17

Finals:

S-C vs. Higginsville 25-22, 26-24

Abby Knight led the team in kills with 56 total and 7 blocks. Kali Edwards, Hannah Woolery, Courtney Koetting and Bailey Curry each had 12 kills. Courtney Koetting had 78 assists, while Hannah Woolery had 47.

Bailey Curry led the defense with 71 digs and Knight with 52. Courtney had 14 aces for the day and Bailey following with 8.

This brings the Tigers to an 8-2 record with 2-1 in conference play.
