Katy Trail Community Health is pleased to announce Katy on the Go, a Mobile Oral Health Program, kicked off at the Clinton Public Schools on Sept. 16.

Katy on the Go is a 38-foot vehicle that is outfitted with two dental operatories. During the 2013-2014 school year, the unit will provide oral health services to any children at the Clinton, Warrensburg, Knob Noster, Holden, Kingsville, Marshall and Versailles School Districts.

The unit will be staffed by Dr. Kyle Shull. Dr. Shull is a graduate of the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Dentistry.

This unique partnership between Katy Trail Community Health and regional school districts will result in expanded access to oral health services for children in four west central Missouri Counties. Their goal is to provide oral health care to 2,200 students annually.

“We have been working toward providing mobile dental services for several years,” said Dr. Nicole Medley, Chief Dental Officer, “and we are glad we are finally able to serve children in the four target counties.”

Katy on the Go was purchased and fitted with a $460,183 grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration School-Based Health Center Capital (SBHCC) project as authorized by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ((P.L. 111-148), Title IV, Section 4101(a)).
