The Gremlins came up a little short in their home opener against Harrisonville. The Grems took the lead on a header by Brandon Cooper on an assist from Max Martin at 26:51 left in the first half. The Grems then made the score 2-0 on a goal by Jimmy Villalobos on another assist from Martin into the half.
During play in the second half, the Grems gave up two goals to end regulation tied.
At 31:23 on a direct kick, the Wildcats’ Brandon Brewster scored and then two minutes later, Brewster scored again in the second half.
During overtime, Harrisonville was able to get the winning goal to win the contest 3-2 in overtime. Wildcat Cole Harkrader scored from an assist from Brewster.
Mason Kelchner had 10 saves in goal, including a penalty kick to keep the Gremlins in the contest throughout the night.
