Chelsea Compton is the owner of Mia Bella Salon, 1911 West Broadway Blvd., Sedalia.

“I have lived in Sedalia my whole life. I opened my salon in April 2013. Since we have been open, I have been finishing renovations of the building. I’m proud to say that the renovations are complete. A Grand Opening Ceremony and Open House was held Sept. 20.

“At our salon, we are open Tuesday through Saturday. We offer many different services. We do spray tans, makeup, nails, hair color, hair cutting, waxing, bridal styles, evening styles, waxing services, hair extensions, deep conditioning and much more. The owner (myself) and Gabriela Estrada are the two stylists. We are both equally creative and both up on all the current trends. We invite you to pamper yourself in our relaxing atmosphere. We treat our clients to the highest quality products and services. There is also a very exclusive boutique located in the same building as the salon. My mother is the owner of the boutique called “Tesori Lane Boutique,” she said.

“I worked at a local salon for years and I truly enjoyed it. I got inspired by clients to open my own salon. With both of my parents being strong entrepreneurs of multiple businesses I knew that I would have their support and help along the way. I am very appreciative to both of them. I am a mother of a seven-year-old daughter, Avery Kate. She is also a huge inspiration to me and she keeps me very motivated for success. I am very lucky to have her. I am the president of a local business networking group here in Sedalia (which supports local small businesses). Come see us sometime for us to fix your hair or come browse the boutique,” Compton said. Ribbon-cutting photo by Sara Tafoya Photography.
