S-C JROTC named ‘Top Team’

The Smith-Cotton JROTC Raiders were named the top team in the 10-state regional Raider meet held Saturday at Fort Riley, Kansas.

Two S-C Raider teams competed on Saturday, Sept. 7 with an all-male team and a mixed (male and female) team. The all-male team caputured the overall first place trophy and the mixed team brought home the overall third place trophy.

The all-male team took first place in the gauntlet event and second in the Raider challenge course and the 10-kilometer road march. The mixed squad was third in physical fitness and in the Raider challenge course.

The all-male team commander is Christian Sarabia and the mixed team commander is Cristina Tejeda.
