The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) is now considering a proposal to install new flashing light signals and gates on Florence Road near Smithton in Eastern Pettis County and also at Carlin Mar Road in Western Pettis County.

Public comments can be sent before Oct. 4, 2013 to Mr. Jack Wright, RR Safety Specialist, Multimodal Operations, Missouri Department of Transportation, 105 W. Capital Ave., P.O. Box 270, Jefferson City, Mo., 65102-0270. Mr. Wright can be reached at (573) 751-5969 to answer any questions.

“In the interest of safety, Pettis County Road and Bridge Department is assisting MHTC with ditch work at the Florence Road site,” said Pettis County Presiding Commisioner John Meehan.
