Two Windsor residents died in a one-vehicle accident that occurred 5:41 p.m. Wednesday on Main Street, east of Quisenberry Road.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that Bonnie M. Osburn, 22, and Christian A. Osburn, 24, both of Windsor, were fatally injured when the vehicle, a 2001 Pontiac driven by Eric G. Evans, 33, of Windsor, crested a hill westbound at a high rate of speed, then traveled off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck a utility pole, causing it to overturn several times before striking another utility pole and coming to rest.

Both passengers were pronounced dead by Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith at 6:45 p.m.

Evans was transported in serious condition to University Hospital by air ambulance, the Patrol reported.

Evans and Christian Osburn were wearing safety devices, while Bonnie Osburn was not, it was reported.

The Patrol was assisted by Pettis County deputies and the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The accident marks the 31st fatality for Troop A and the 36th and 37th fatalities for 2013.
