On display now at the Sedalia Katy Depot, 600 East Third, is Sacajawea the “Birdwoman” statue, by sculptor John Soderberg.

Sacajawea, the Indian guide for the Lewis and Clark expedition, is one of the important figures in American history. Soderberg shares the unique sculpture to recognize the importance of women to our families, our communities and the world.

The bronze sculpture, standing 7 feet tall, is currently on loan to the Sedalia Heritage Foundation courtesy of owner Harlan Pals and Dr. Doug Kiburz and is on display Monday thru Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Katy Depot in Sedalia. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia News Journal.
