S-C volley wins first conference match

S-C Lady Tiger Volleyball won their first conference match Sept. 3 against Clinton, 25-19, 25-12.

Abby Knight led the offense for the Tigers with 13 kills, followed by Bailey Curry with 4 and Kali Edwards and Courtney Koetting with 3 apeice. The setters had a great performance with Courtney Koetting receiveing 16 assists and Hannah Woolery 12.

Tiger serving played a role in the wins tonight. The tigers went 90% on the evening, but 100% in game 2. Courtney Koetting led the team with 4 aces and 9 points. Bailey Curry had 1 ace and 9 points. Kali Edwards scored 7 points and had 2 aces.

Bailey Curry played a strong defensive game as well and earned 9 digs for the Tigers. Brittany Borke, Hannah Meyer and Courtney Koetting had 4 apiece. At the net, Knight had 2 block kills.

Junior Varsity also won their 26-24 and 25-18.

It was a great start of the season, with much to look forward to for the year.

The Tigers host Odessa on Thursday night. Freshmen begin at 5:00, with JV and Varsity following. Submitted.
