The Be Forever Young Club met recently at Parkview Christian Church and saw a presentaion by local artist Marlis Wise.

Wise, who works in oils and pastels, shared information about the supplies she uses and brought several works of art for the group to see.

Twenty members and a guest, Leona Payne, attended the meeting, which was called to order by President Susan Sneed, who also gave the opening prayer.

The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were presented by Linda Fischer and both were accepted. Trudy Knight gave the devotional, “The Letter.”

Hostesses for the meeting were Wise and Fischer, while Rhonda Zink and Sneed will serve in that capacity in September.

The group plans to travel to the Lyceum Theatre Aug. 30 to see “Hank Williams — Lost Highway,” while on Sept. 4 the group will go the New Theatre production of “The Fox on the Fairway,” starring Dyan Cannon. A day trip is also planned Sept. 23 to the Iconium General Store, Osceola Cheese Store and the Amish grocery store in Windsor.

Bessie Topel, a member of the group, saw her birthday celebrated.
