Pilot Larry Conn from Warsaw rewarded Boy Scouts Tyeler Amberg, Jose Alicea and Emilio Olivos with a flight over Sedalia in his personal airplane July 27.

The boys from Troop 300 worked hard over several months to demonstrate maturity and earn points to participate in this event. Mr. Conn taught the boys and their parents about aviation before taking them up in the plane at the Sedalia airport on the morning of Saturday, July 27.

Over the years Mr. Conn has taken over 600 children on free flights like this as part of the EAA Young Eagles program. The boys were given a certificate for completing the flight, and will be able to take an aviation course online that they may use to work towards receiving their pilot’s license.

More information about the Young Eagles Program can be found at http://www.youngeagles.org/. Photo submitted.
