Motorcycle crash fatal for area man

A 53-year-old Sweet Springs man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle at 11:20 p.m. July 18 in Johnson County.

Dead is Jerry W. Wilder, according to a preliminary accident report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol said the accident occurred when Wilder’s 2011 Harley Davidson, headed north on Highway 23, entered a curve going too fast and ran off the roadway. The cycle rolled and ejected the rider, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Johnson County Coroner C. L. Holdren.

The body was taken to the Sweeney-Phillips Funeral Home, Warrensburg.
