A Windsor man was transported to University Hospital in Columbia on Sunday evening after the car he was driving crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

Charles N. Knatcal, 74, Windsor, was southbound on Maple Grove Road, one-half mile south of Highway 52 in Pettis County in a 1997 Mercury when the accident occurred at 7 p.m. The car had extensive damage, while Knatcal was listed in serious condition. He was not wearing a safety device, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

He was flown to University Hospital by Staff for Life, the Patrol noted.
