Smith-Cotton High School graduates Kinsey Mahalovich, left, and Alyssa Weikal received certificates for completing the Future Business Leaders of America’s Business Achievement Award program.

Kinsey Mahalovich and Alyssa Weikal, members of Smith-Cotton High School’s Class of 2013, were honored during the Future Business Leaders of America’s National Leadership Conference held June 27-30 in Anaheim, Calif.

The students were recognized for completing their America Level Business Achievement Awards. The Business Achievement Awards program is designed to complement academics while accelerating a student’s leadership skills. The awards focus on the words surrounding the FBLA crest: service, education and progress.

“I am extremely proud of these two students. They have accomplished great things this past year. The leadership opportunities that have participated in through FBLA will afford them great opportunities in their future” said Bryant Lazenby, Smith-Cotton FBLA adviser. “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our community sponsors, Colton’s Steakhouse, Ditzfield Transfer, Duke Manufacturing and Rick Ball Ford for providing funding opportunities to make this trip possible.” Photo courtesy Sedalia School District 200.
