A brief, but patriotic parade organized and narrated by Terry Cockrell drew a few hundred people to downtown Sedalia to celebrate America’s Independence on Thursday, July 4. Former State Senator Jim Mathewson served as Grand Marshall in the 25-unit parade. VFW Post 2591 supplied a 21-gun salute and the playing of Taps. Part Two of the event was held at Centennial Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia News Journal.
