The State Fair Community College Roadrunners have announced the addition of three student athletes for the 2013-2014 season.

Jerrard Davis

6-5 forward

Chicago, Ill. – Uplift Community High School

Davis averaged 18 points, nine rebounds and three assists during his senior season while playing for Head Coach David Taylor. Davis was a Luther Bedford All-Star selection in 2013.

“Jerrard will bring some toughness and rebounding to our team next season,” said Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Thomas. “He is a left-handed player who can slash to the basket. We’re looking for him to make solid plays for us.”

Isaac Freeman

7-0 center

Manassas, Va. – University of Massachusetts (Amherst, Mass.)

Freeman played in five games for Head Coach Derek Kellogg as a freshman at the University of Massachusetts. He played his prep school basketball at South Kent School, South Kent, Ct., averaging a double double with 14.9 points and 14 rebounds. He also contributed seven blocks per contest while playing for Head Coach Kelvin Jefferson.

Freeman played high school basketball at Osbourn High School, Manassas, Va., where he averaged 14.7 points and 14.5 rebounds. He also registered more than seven blocks a game as a senior while playing for Head Coach Mike Dufrene.

“He can run,” said Thomas. “He blocks shots. I think his defensive presence will help our team tremendously. He will allow our guards and our wings to get out and deny on the perimeter.”

Deangelo Stephens-Bell

6-2 guard

Jacksonville, Fla. – North Florida Educational Institute

Stephens-Bell averaged 11.8 points as a senior as part of a talented North Florida Educational Institute team under Head Coach Michael DuBose. He also contributed a little more than two assists per contest and helped his team to a 19-13 record on the season.

“He is a very athletic, strong guard,” said Thomas. “Physically, he is ready to step in and play right away. He shoots the ball well and is an effective, on-the-ball defender.”
