The Democratic Club of Pettis County met May 23, at Best Western in Sedalia. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm. by President Paul Breshears.

The guest speaker was Sedalia Police Officer of the Year Michael Elwood. He spoke about working the night shift and some of the things he encounters while working. The domestic disturbances and just being on the lookout of people and places he patrols. It was very easy to see why he is the Police Officer of the Year, he is very dedicated to helping the people of Sedalia. He also said anyone is welcome to do a ride-along on his patrol for the experience.

Paul Breshears made a motion that Donna Franklin assume the duties of Treasurer as well as her duties of Secretary. Carolyn Williams seconded and the motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m. and will meet June 27 at Best Western.
