Public library receives $6,296 LSTA grant

The Sedalia Public Library has been awardded an LSTA Summer Reading Program Collection Development Grant for $6,296.

The purpose of the grant is to enhance the fiction and non-fiction collections in the Easy, Juvenline and Young Adult sections, so that participants in the library’s Summer Reading program will have more selections for their Reading Logs.

The grant is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of Secretary of State Jason Kander.

Area preschoolers through 12th graders are invited to participate in the Sedalia Public Library’s Summer Reading program, which runs June 5 through July 24.

The theme this year is “Dig Into Reading.” Call the library at 826-1314 or stop by the library at 515 South Ohio for more information.
