A motorcycle accident that occurred on Route U early Monday morning, May 27, sent one Sedalia woman to the hospital, the Missouri State Highway Patrol has reported.

Jeremi H. Schmidt, 35, Sedalia, was traveling south on a curve on Route U, just south of Anderson School Road, on a 2000 Harley Davidson, when he “struck the roadway with his motorcycle, causing him to lose control,” cross the center line, travel off the left side of the roadway and overturn, the Patrol said.

Schmidt suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. His passenger, however, 33-year-old Laura Taylor of Sedalia, was transported by EMS to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries in the accident, which was reported at 12:51 a.m.

The Trooper was assisted at the scene by a Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputy.
