Tornado was an EF-1, NWS says

This is the storm track of the tornado that touched down in Pettis County on May 20, 2013. It has been confirmed by the National Weather Service which provided this picture, that Pettis County had an EF-1 Tornado reaching 95 mph, and travelled over 14 miles.

Some homes, barns, poultry barns and trees were damaged in the storm early Monday evening, but there were no reported injuries.

The National Weather Service placed Pettis County in a Tornado Warning at approximately 4:56 PM, and the first reports of a possible rain wrapped tornado came into the Sedalia-Pettis County Emergency Operations Center from our trained Chaser Frankie Vander Pool at approximately 5:10 PM.

The Tornado Warning was allowed to expire by the National Weather Service at approximately 5:30 p.m., said Dave Clippert, Sedalia-Pettis County Emergencey Management Agency director.
