State Fair Community College held its 44th commencement Friday night, May 17 at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Building. Dr. Marsha Drennon, in her final days as president, delivered the commencement address to the hundreds of SFCC sophomores awaiting their degree, assisted by Vice President Dr. Brent Bates. Steve Scheiner, dean of Academic Affairs, energetically announced each graduate as they took the stage.

The grads, all dressed in bright blue caps and gowns, were surrounded by a sea of family, friends and SFCC faculty attending the event.

State Representative Dr. Dean Dohrman, R-La Monte, received the SFCC Distinguished Alumni Award from Dr. Drennon at the conclusion of the 90-plus-minute ceremony.

The event was followed by a reception for graduates, friends and family at the Parkhurst Commons on the SFCC campus. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia News Journal.
