JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an application filed by Summit Natural Gas of Missouri, Inc. (Summit) which sought Commission authority to expand its current natural gas service territory in Pettis and Benton counties near Windsor.

The Public Service Commission Staff recommended the application be approved because: (1) granting the application would be in the public interest; (2) Summit’s proven ability to attract and secure financing for prior expansions indicates the project is feasible; (3) no person(s) have intervened or objected; (4) Summit anticipates using customary rights-of-way; (5) the requested service area is expected to develop new customers; and (6) no new franchises are necessary.

Based upon a thorough review of the information submitted in the case, the Commission granted the application determining it is in the public interest.
