Smith-Cotton’s #1 doubles team of Logan Fluty and Phoenix Painter took on Piontek and Fernquist from Warrensburg Tuesday afternoon at the Liberty Park tennis courts. Fluty-Painter lost to Piontek-Fernquist, 6-8.

The Warrensburg varsity tennis team moved to 12-0 with a win over Smith-Cotton in a dual match Tuesday evening, wrapping up a conference title in their last dual match of the season.

“The season has been great,” said coach Dan Plott of Warrensburg.

“We have a great group of young men who are dedicated to tennis. We have a great deal of depth, which really helps the team perform well,” he added.
