Citizens Against Spouse Abuse (CASA) sponsored a Sexual Assault Awareness Walk on Thursday, April 25 that began at Bothwell Regional Health Center and proceeded to the Pettis County Courthouse with a dual Missouri State Highway Patrol escort. The group is shown here crossing Broadway at Ohio Street.  Some walkers carried stat signs showing the prevalence of sexual abuse in the US.

The Sedalia Fire Department, as well as the Salvation Army, also made an appearance. Sedalia City Councilman Stephen Galliher delivered a mayoral proclamation to those gathered at the courthouse to take part in the annual event, while CASA Executive Director Lori Haney delivered a speech. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia News Journal.
