BRHC Auxiliary reports for April

The Bothwell Regional Hospital Auxiliary board welcomed back Joyce Monroe, president, after her extended stay in Arizona with her daughter.

Carol Ackerman reported 1108 volunteer hours for March. Volunteers receiving awards were: Gerald Evans/25 hours, Myra George/600, Betty Keane/5500, Virginia McAllister/3500., Charlotte Sidwell/25 and Marge Watson/300.

Don Morton was installed as the historian.

Vickie Perry, membership, reported several prospective members are set to take their orientation Monday to become members. New members are trained once a month and always welcomed to the Auxiliary.

Nursing scholarship applications are now being taken by Karen Suroff and are due May 1 to June 30. Contact the gift shop at the hospital for an application.

Begonia day will be May 8 with Ruth Kerr in charge. Each hospital employee receives a begonia in appreciation of their work with the hospital given by the auxiliary.

Betty Blackwell was elected president and Karen Taylor was elected secretary for the 2013-2015 term. They will be installed at the June meeting.

The District III meeting will held in Hannibal, May 21. Members are encouraged to attend.

Nineteen pints of blood were collected at the hospital blood drive.

Membership dues of $5 are due by June. They can be paid at the Volunteer Luncheon to be held April 23 at the Celebration Center.
