The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the academic program by recognizing 50 gold, 50 silver and 50 bronze scholars and providing nearly $200,000 in scholarships annually.
Lake’s selection was based on scores earned in the All-USA Community College Academic Team competition, for which 1,800 applications were received.
An independent panel of judges considers outstanding academic rigor, grade point average, academic and leadership awards, and engagement in college and community service in the selection process.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society administers the program. Winners will be recognized at the PTK annual convention April 4-6 in San Jose, Calif.
Lake is president of SFCC’s chapter of PTK.
