On March 15, 2013, a Missouri state trooper stopped a 2013 Hyundai Sonata for a traffic violation on eastbound Interstate 70 near the 63-mile marker in Saline County, Missouri.
During the course of the traffic stop, inconsistencies and deceptive behavior of the driver and passenger led the trooper to ask for consent to search the vehicle, which was granted. The trooper subsequently searched the vehicle, locating 9.5 pounds of marijuana and 6.25 pounds of edible marijuana candies concealed inside the trunk of the vehicle.
Randall E. Swallows, 46, and Andrew L. Manley, 22, both of Anderson, Indiana, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and transported to Saline County Jail.
The charges for which the above individuals were arrested are mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the above charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
