Green Ridge Lady Tigers drop opener

The Green Ridge Lady Tiger softball team lost their season opener 6-5 to the St. Paul’s Lady Saints Friday night at Green Ridge.

Green Ridge scored a run in the bottom of the first and made that 1-0 lead last through the first three innings.

St. Paul’s scored twice in the fourth and led 2-1 after five innings. St. Paul’s scored twice more in the top of the sixth to lead 4-1. Green Ridge scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth and regained the lead 5-4 after six.

St. Paul’s scored the tying and winning runs in the top of the seventh.

Sammi Unkel took the loss for Green Ridge. She struck out 14 and walked three.

At the plate, Ragin Dillon went 3-for-4 with two singles and a triple for Green Ridge.

The Lady Tigers played Tuesday at Concordia.
