La Monte R-4 ranks third in magazine’s Top 25 list

Ingram’s, a Kansas City business magazine, recently published its 2013 list of the Top 25 area public high schools. The list encompasses schools in Kansas City’s 22-county region by average ACT score.

La Monte was ranked third, behind Park Hill and Lee’s Summit, with Blue Spings in fourth.

La Monte’s ACT average of 23.2 was a 1.5 percent increase from the previous year, with just 14 students taking the test. Park Hill tested 759 students, Lee’s Summit 1,260, and Blue Springs 994. Park Hill’s average ACT score was 23.7, Lee’s Summit 23.5, and Blue Springs 22.6.

This is the third consecutive year that La Monte R-4 High School has made the Top 25 list; last year the school was ranked ninth. (Submitted)
