The Sacred Heart High School Gremlin Speech team continues to break records for the school — Jesse Carroll is Sacred Heart’s second District Champion in speech competition. Three students competing in four events at State is the most ever for a Sacred Heart Gremlin Speech Team. Results from last Saturday’s District Speech Meet are listed below:
Advancing to the State Speech, Debate, and Drama contest in April at MU-Columbia:
Senior Megan Ortmeyer, 3rd place in Storytelling
Senior Connor Simon, 3rd place in Radio Speaking and 3rd place in U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking
Senior Jesse Carroll, the District Champion (1st place winner) in Poetry Reading.
Awarded medals in District competition:
Sophomore Gabby Hill – 7th place in Original Oratory
Junior Virginia Vanegas – 4th place in Dramatic Interpretation
Senior Nathan Edwards and Junior Casey Chappel – 4th place in Duet Acting
