On March 3, 2013 Officer John Cook attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 700 block of East Broadway. The vehicle made a left turn from the outside lane, crossing all lanes of traffic to make the turn. When Officer Cook activated his emergency equipment the vehicle refused to stop and Officer Cook pursued for a short distance. Officer Cook eventually terminated the pursuit and the vehicle left the south city limits on Marshall.
A short time later the vehicle was located by Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies and the driver and passenger were secured. The driver had an active warrant and he was arrested for it as well as resisting.
Earlier, the STING unit received information the driver of the vehicle was at a local hotel selling Marijuana from a room. We responded to the area and assisted.
During an inventory search of the vehicle officers located Marijuana, digital scale, and baggies. The suspect also had hotel room keys. We determined which hotel and room the suspect had rented and we gained a search warrant for the room.
The suspect was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending state charges.
We then went to Comfort Inn to serve the search warrant. A search of the room revealed more drug items; Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and drug packaging supplies. While at the hotel we made contact with two other suspects that had come there to purchase drugs from the first suspect.
Eventually we gained consent to search the two suspects, we had contacted, residence. We went to 1400 S. Stewart and searched the residence. In the residence officers located several items; Marijuana, Methamphetamine, baggies, and drug paraphernalia.
