S-C DECA attends District at Independence

Thirty-six Smith-Cotton DECA members attended District 4 DECA Conference on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Independence Center. Of those attending 23 qualified to attend State DECA Conference, March 17-19 at Lodge of the Four Seasons. The following members will be advancing to the next round of competition with hopes of qualifying for International Conference in Anaheim, California:

• Hayley Escobar-Petersen, Caleb Stathem, & Brandon Ogweno, 3rd Place in Advertising Campaign

• Carter Noble, 1st Place; Noah Shepard, 4th Place in Automotive Services Marketing

• Ashlee Slack, 1st Place; Haily Tejada, 4th Place in Business Services Marketing

• Cameron Harris, Lyndsey Jackson, & Kelsey Webb, 2nd Place in Community Service Project

• Keegan Kendrick & Zach Wolf, 1st Place in Entrepreneurship Growing Your Business

• Carter Noble*, Kahnner Cunningham, & Trever Haugen, 4th Place in Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan

• Samantha Hansen & Trey Napier, 2nd Place in Financial Services Team Decision Making

• Abby Monsees, 2nd Place in Marketing Management Series

• Olivia Funk, 1st Place in Principles of Hospitality & Tourism

• Ayden Bartley & Logan Meier, 3rd Place in Sports & Entertainment Team Decision Making

• Tayler Gero, Megan Lollis, & Elena Sharp, 2nd Place in Public Relations Project

• Mike Pugh & Joseph Rodewald, 1st Place in Travel & Tourism Team Decision Making
